Fund Isaan alumni: "Kwang" a teacher born to be.

Fund Isaan granted Kwang a scholarship in 2014. She was 19 years old and studying Science Teacher in her first year at Surindra Rajabhat University. She was one of the top students in her class. The duration of her study was five years.

Kwang was from a small village in Nongkanna. Her father suffered a mental breakdown because of their difficulties and live in poverty. Kwang’s mother worked alone to support the entire family. She ran a small street food restaurant selling noodles, rice, curry and one-dish meals. She made about 8,000 THB (230 Euro) per month.

Fund Isaan granted Tew a scholarship in 2017. He was 20 years old and studying Business Computer at Sangkha Industrial and Community Education College.

Tew’s father had a motorcycle accident in which he lost one eye, limiting him in his ability to work. His mother worked alone on their small farm and whenever possible as a day-laborer. Tew worked after school at a grocery shop to pay for his study. Together they made about 5,000 THB (approx. 145 Euro) per month.

Tang-kwa was 18 when Fund Isaan granted her a scholarship. She was studying Accounting in her final year of secondary school at Sangkha Industrial and Community Education College. She continued her education at the same college in pursuit of a high certificate.

Her parents divorced when she was only four years old. She lived with her mother and her grandmother. The family had a small rice farm. Tang-kwa always helped on the farm. To make some extra money she sold fish in the morning market, starting at 04.00 AM.
