When we met Nan and her family in 2017 the family was struggling; Father had just passed away and mother was alone with her three children and a disabled grandmother. Mother did her best to take care of the farm (or what was left of it, after her inlaws claimed a large part of it). Nan was studying in year four of secondary school and dreaming of becoming a nurse. By giving Nan a scholarship we did not only help Nan but also her older sister who was in her last year at university and considering quiting school to help her family. The scholarship ment that she didn't have to do that.
Nan kept true to her promise and realised her dream. Recently Nan graduated with a certificate in Practical Nursing from Mahidol University in Bangkok.
Nan is now working at King Siriraj Hospital, the oldest and largest hospital in Thailand. She is very happy with her work and life.
“With this certificate (Practical Nursing), I can work in the King’s hospital. The salary is good. I love working here. I appreciate the support from you. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for me and my family. Thank you very much".
Well done Nan!
