Fund Isaan granted Joy a scholarship when she was 19 and studying Office Management in her first year of high certificate at Surin Vocational College.
Joy is part of a family of three; her grandmother, her younger step-sister and Joy. They live in a house of an aunt in Surin city. Her parents divorced many years ago. Her father got remarried and has another child with his second wife. He lives in another province and never supported his daughter.
Her mother also got remarried and has another child (Joy’s younger sister) with her second husband. Her mother and stepfather work and live in Samut Prakan province. They rarely supported Joy’s education. Her stepfather only pays for Joy's younger sister.
Joy’s grandmother is 70 years old; despite her age she still works as a house maid to support the two children. She makes at best 200 THB (5,8 Euro) per day.
Thanks to the scholarship, Joy could continue her education. Joy was an excellent student with good grades (between 96-100%).
In May 2019, Joy graduated with a high certificate in Office Management from Surin Vocational College. She immediately got a job offering as a government officer! Joy was selected out of more than thousand candidates to become a data recording officer at The Department of Transportation in Surin province.
Joy is doing well and taking good care of her grandmother. For this special occasion she would like to send her kind sponsor a thank you note…
"After graduation I intended to continue my studies for a bachelor degree. But, I received a unique opportunity from the government to be part of a great organization that provides steady career growth and most importantly close to my house. I took it and I am extremely happy with my choice. Once again, thank you Mr. Peter, for your support. Your generosity truly makes a difference!”
