In less than 12 days, between 14 and 23  of August, 2018, Fund Isaan in sponsored by Delaware Belux and Deloitte Belgium, installed five new computer classes at Ban Thanong (Ratrajwitthaya) School (replacement of previously installed class), Prasat School, Ban Tasoh School, Narai Khampong Witthaya School and Sopapphitayaporn School.

Today, every business and individual is affected by the digital revolution. Companies and employees need to transform the way they operate to meet the digital challenge.

Many companies struggle to find qualified workers with the required technology skills. Schools and universities are often way behind and insufficiently prepare their students for this rapidly approaching new reality.

Last week Fund Isaan was honored by the visit of Mr. Jocelyn Timmermans, president of Fund Isaan, a fund managed by the King Baudouin Foundation and consul of Thailand in Flanders and his spouse.

Together we visited Saikeaw School where we were welcomed by the school director, teachers and some of our scholarship students.

Mr. and Mrs. Timmermans took time to talk with each scholarship student to learn more about their lives and the challenges they face. Also they handed over the scholarships for the next semester.

In 2015, Fund Isaan granted Da a scholarship when she was studying in her fifth year of high school at Saikaew Witthaya School. Da finished her semester with a grade of 81%.

Da lived with a family of four people in a village called Baan Moung Jaroen. Her father was a farmer who owned a small rice farm and as almost all Thai farmers, outside the harvesting season; he worked as a day laborer in another province to make some extra money.
